Just because the weather is cooling down, doesn’t mean your sunnies should be packed away for the season! At Skye & Lach we love wearing our shades all year round, and never run out of ways to work them into our outfits. Stuck on styling? Here are some ways you can wear sunglasses during the Autumn/Winter 2017 season.
Wear Your Aviators with an Aviator Jacket
Aviator or ‘pilot’ jackets are a huge trend this Winter – making their way from the European chill to down under. As you may have guessed, these jackets are reminiscent of those worn by airplane pilots – they have fluffy wool lining, pockets and buckles that give them a masculine, edgy look. Take the pilot look to the next level by wearing some over-sized aviators – you’ll look super cosy and super sleek at the same time!
Colours for Summer, black for Winter – we all know the status quo. And while we fully support breaking the rules and making a statement here at Skye & Lach, if you’re unsure how to fit sunnies into your AW17 wardrobe, going dark is an easy fix.
Book a Holiday
This may seem like an extreme measure – but we’ll take any excuse to go on a holiday! It is common for Australians to escape Winter for Summer in Europe, America or other countries. If you’re going on vacay, your Skye & Lach shades will be the ultimate accessory to wear alongside your denim shorts, bikini or maxi dress.
Shine Bright Like a Diamond
Metallics are back for AW17 and they are appearing in clothes, shoes, homewares and of course, our favourite category, accessories! Mirrored sunglasses play perfectly into this trend – adding shine to any outfit and matching with metallics of any colour. Our Valentine Black Matt sunglasses also feature a silver metal tip on the edge of the cat-eye, a stand out detail on a classic shape.
If you’re seeking inspiration, look no further than your favourite IT girl. Those who live in the northern hemisphere have spent the last few months rugging up for Winter, and as you can see – that didn’t stop Kendall Jenner, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Gigi Hadid from rocking their best over-sized shades.
Don’t Forget the Glare
You should always keep a pair of sunglasses in two places – your handbag and your car. It’s easy to assume that the sky stays dark and gloomy in Winter, but when the clouds break and you get a burst of sunlight, it can be quite hard to see. Our glasses all provide a high level of sun glare reduction and a very good level of UV protection, so they’re great to keep on hand for those surprisingly sunny days.
See, we told you! You can still style sunglasses and wear shades when the weather is making you shiver. Need a new pair?
